Day 1 - 28 Dec 2011 Landing in the Galapagos at Baltra airport Our first sea lion sighting. Giant tortoise on Santa Cruz Island. The tortoise stands to allow finches to clean his underbelly of ticks. Traffic jam on the turnpike.
Baby tortoise #86 at the Charles Darwin Station. Day 2 - 29 Dec 2011 South Plaza and Santa Fe Islands. Sea lions blocking our landing on South Plaza Island. Marine iguanas and crabs. Sea lion pup sun bathing. Swallow-tailed gull
Our home for 7 days - the Cachalote. 8 cabins (15 people on our tour) and 6 crew and 1 naturalist. Land iguana - South Plaza Island Sea lion mother and pup Land iguana Prickly pear cacti trees on the hillside of South Plaza Island.
The girls on our trip. Ashley(11), Arden(12), Brooke(15), & Aubrey(11). A ground finch. Lava lizard shedding. Brown pelican Cactus finch doing his thing.
